Bullock Building
The Bullock Building is seen here in 1925 as an auto showroom. The second floor operated as a brothel for many years until 1980. Note the “painted ladies” mannequins in the first and last windows of the now picture.
Fairmont Hotel
Seen here in 1925, the Fairmont was built in 1898 and was also a brothel and speakeasy during Prohibition. It was recenlty restored and is now a casino.
Rodeo Grounds
This is the site of The Days of ’76 Rodeo which will celebrate it’s 90th anniversary in August 2013.
Franklin Hotel
The Franklin Hotel is seen here in 1903, the year it opened. It has hosted such notables as Teddy Roosevelt, Buffalo Bill, Babe Ruth, and John Wayne. It continues as one of Deadwood’s most luxurious casinos
Slime Plant
The Homestake Gold Mine’s Slime Plant was built in 1906 and used to remove gold particles from pulverized ore until 1973. Today it is the Deadwood Mountain Grand–the town’s premier entertainment and gaming venue.
Multnomah Falls

Rowena Loop

Vista House
Originally conceived as a monument to the pioneers who first came to Oregon, the Vista House has long afforded unparalleled views of the Columbia River Gorge since it’s opening in May 1918.
Astoria Column
The 125 ft. Astoria Column was completed in 1926 at a cost of $27,000. Due to exposure to the elements, the many murals depicting Oregon’s history required major restoration in 1995 at a cost of $1,000,000.
Cannon Beach
The first two pictures are of Cannon Beach with cars in the 1910s and cars and horses in the 1940s. In 1913 Cannon Beach was decreed to be part of the Oregon State Highway System. It is the site where a cannon from an 1846 shipwreck washed ashore. Also, it is the westward terminus of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
