Fort Bowie Valley View
Ft Bowie was built in southeast Arizona in 1868 following the Battle of Apache Pass. It is shown here in an 1894 photo–the year it was abandoned.

Geronimo
Fort Bowie’s most famous resident was Geronimo seen here in two pictures taken in 1886. He left the next day for Florida never to return to his homeland.

Apache Pass

Calamity Jane
On a hot July day in 1903 a drunken Calamity Jane posed at the gravesite of her only true love–Wild Bill Hickock. She wanted to be buried next to him and got her wish two weeks after the picture was taken.

Bullock Hotel
Seen here in a postcard photo is the Bullock Hotel in 1896, the year it opened. Today it offers luxurious accomodations and 24hr gaming. It is also the most photographed building in Deadwood.
